Small does not mean careless. In January 2025 a Wolverhampton seller assured the Cooper family their new sofa was definitely small enough for the hallway. It was not. We took a door off, protected the frame and got it into their Stafford front room without turning the hall into modern art.
The same service moves flat contents, garden furniture, white goods and student rooms. Everything still gets blankets and straps, because a single wardrobe slides about in an empty van far more than a full load does. That is the bit one-man-band operators skip.
If your whole move fits in one or two van loads and you can lift the small stuff yourself, this is the cheaper way to do it. Students, house shares, part-moves after a separation, or the awkward leftovers a big move left behind: all standard work for us.
And do not let the name box you in: you can have more than one man whenever you want. Heavy wardrobe, awkward stairs, or you would just rather not lift anything yourself? Ask for a second mover and the quote will say exactly who is coming.

As a rough guide, a man and van load covers a single large item, a flat or bedsit's worth of furniture, or roughly a room or two of a house. If it fits in one or two trips and you can manage the small bits yourself, this is the cheaper way to do it. Typical loads look like:
When the load creeps past a couple of van trips, a full removal van usually works out faster and better value than shuttling a smaller one back and forth, and we will tell you so honestly rather than book you the service that suits us. It depends on what is moving, how far, and the access at both ends, so we price the job rather than just the hours. Send the details and you will get a clear figure the same day. Small jobs carry small prices; you are not paying for vans you do not need.
Yes. Sofas, wardrobes, washing machines, pianos with the right equipment booked: single items are everyday work. The item still gets wrapped and strapped, because one loose wardrobe in an empty van is how scratches happen.
Yes. Give us the collection address and a photo of the item, and we will collect, wrap and deliver it. We will also tell you honestly if the seller's idea of "small" looks optimistic.
Only if that is all the job needs. You can have more than one man whenever you want: a second mover for heavy or awkward items, or a full extra pair of hands for the whole job. Say so at quote stage and the price will state exactly who is coming.
