Privacy policy: what we hold, and why.
Plain English, UK GDPR. This page lists every piece of your data this site touches, every company that processes any of it, and how to make us correct or delete it. Last reviewed 12 June 2026.
1. Who we are
Brewood Removals, of Brewood, Staffordshire. Sean Hamilton owns and runs the business and is the data controller. Contact: 07544 466094 or info@brewoodremovals.co.uk.
2. What we collect
- Quote enquiries: your name, phone number, email address, the addresses you are moving between, your moving date and the details of what needs moving.
- Contact form messages: your name, phone number, email address and the message you write.
- Phone and email enquiries: whatever you tell Sean so he can survey and price the job.
- Job records: date, addresses, work done and price paid, for moves we carry out.
- Server logs: the web host keeps standard logs (IP address, browser type, request path, time) briefly, for security and abuse prevention. They are not used for marketing.
3. The quote form (iMve)
The form on our get-a-quote page is an embedded form provided by iMve, a software service built for the removals industry. What you enter into it goes to iMve, which processes it on our behalf and delivers the enquiry to Sean. iMve acts as our processor for that data; its own privacy policy is at i-mve.com/privacy-policy. We use what you submit only to survey, quote and plan your move.
4. The contact form (this site)
The form on our contact page is our own. When you submit it, two emails are sent through our hosting platform's mail service (Stackmail, part of the 20i platform our host runs on): a notification to us and an automatic confirmation to you. The form includes a hidden anti-spam field and Google reCAPTCHA, described next. Nothing you enter is stored in a database on this site; it exists only in those emails.
5. Spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA)
The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3, which is used to tell humans and bots apart. When you interact with the form, Google may collect hardware and software information (such as device and application data, browser type, IP address and cookie data) and analyse it to score the request. We never see that data, only the score. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The reCAPTCHA script loads only when you start interacting with the form, not on every page view.
6. Why we are allowed to use your data (UK GDPR Article 6)
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): to quote for and carry out the move you ask about.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): to keep tax and accounting records. HMRC requires at least 6 years.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): to respond to enquiries, prevent spam and abuse, defend against complaints and run the business.
7. The reviews shown on this site
Our reviews page and review cards republish reviews you can already see publicly on our Google Business Profile: the reviewer's public name, profile photo, star rating, review text and any reply from us, word for word. Profile photos are served from our own server rather than fetched from Google while you browse, so reading our reviews sends nothing to Google. If you edit or delete your review on Google, that is the master copy; email us too and we will refresh ours straight away.
8. Who we share data with
Nobody, except where the job requires it: iMve (quote form processing, section 3); our web host 365i, on the 20i hosting platform in the United Kingdom, which serves this site and carries the form emails; Google, for reCAPTCHA scoring only (section 5); HMRC and our accountant for tax records; and insurers if a claim arises from a move. We never sell or rent your data, and there is no marketing list.
9. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a job: deleted within 12 months.
- Job and customer records: 6 years after the move (HMRC minimum) and up to 7 years for insurance and liability purposes.
- Analytics: none collected, so none retained.
10. Cookies and tracking
This site sets no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no behavioural tracking. There is no Google Analytics and no social media pixel, and so no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to. The only third-party script is reCAPTCHA, loaded on form interaction as described in section 5. If any of this changes, this page changes first.
11. Your rights under UK GDPR
- Access: ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification: have inaccurate data corrected.
- Erasure: have your data deleted, subject to the legal retention periods above.
- Restriction: limit what we do with it.
- Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Portability: receive your data in a usable format.
To exercise any of these, email info@brewoodremovals.co.uk. We respond within one calendar month.
12. Complaints to the ICO
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
13. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions travel by encrypted email, quote data sits inside iMve's secured service, and paper records are kept locked. No system is perfect, but nothing about how this site is built collects more than it needs in the first place, which is the better protection.
14. The Moving Planner tool
Our moving planner lets you build a personal moving checklist and countdown. It saves your plan in your browser's local storage, on your own device, and nothing you enter is sent to us or to anyone else. Downloading your plan creates a file on your device; importing one reads a file you pick. The only time any of it reaches us is if you use "Email me my plan", which sends your plan, plus your name and email if you give them, by the same contact-form mail route described in sections 4 and 5, protected by the same spam check and kept for the periods in section 9. The planner sets no analytics and no tracking cookie.
15. Changes to this policy
This policy was last reviewed on 12 June 2026. Material changes will be flagged on this page, and the review date above always tells you how current it is.
Frequently asked questions
Does this site use cookies or analytics?
No. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no behavioural tracking, which is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to. The only third-party script is Google reCAPTCHA, and that loads only if you start filling in a form.
Where does the quote form send my details?
The quote form on our get-a-quote page is provided by iMve, a removals industry software service. What you enter goes to iMve, which processes it on our behalf and delivers the enquiry to Sean. Nobody else receives it, and it is used only to survey and price your move.
Why does the contact form mention Google reCAPTCHA?
reCAPTCHA v3 tells humans and bots apart so the form does not drown in spam. Google scores the request using device and browser signals; we only ever see the score, never the underlying data. The script loads when you start interacting with the form, not on every page view.
How long do you keep my details?
Enquiries that do not lead to a job are deleted within 12 months. Records of jobs we carry out are kept for 6 years to meet HMRC requirements, and up to 7 years where insurance or liability could still arise.
How do I get my data corrected or deleted?
Email info@brewoodremovals.co.uk and ask. We respond within one calendar month. Deletion is subject to the legal retention periods for tax records, and we will tell you plainly if part of your data has to stay for that reason.
My name is in a Google review shown on this site. Can I change that?
Yes. The reviews we show are your own public Google reviews, word for word. If you edit or delete the review on Google it changes at source; email us as well and we will refresh our copy straight away rather than waiting for the next routine update.
