Who you are dealing with
Most removals firms route you through whoever is free. Here it is simpler: Sean is the business, with more than 25 years in removals behind him. He takes the first call, asks the surveyor's questions, prices the job the same day and plans it down to which van and how many crew. On moving day the crew works from his plan, and if anything needs deciding, he is the one deciding it, at the end of the same number you rang the first time.
That single-pair-of-hands setup is deliberate. Quotes do not drift because the person who gave the price is the person responsible for it. Nothing gets lost in handover because there is no handover. And when a reviewer writes that they "never felt I had to chase", that is the system working as designed.
How a move runs through Sean's hands
- The enquiry. Phone, message or the quote form. Sean reads every one himself.
- The survey. Detailed questions, or a ten-minute video walkthrough of your home when the job or the distance calls for it.
- The written quote. Same day, usually within the hour: vans, crew size, what is included, discounts shown on the quote itself.
- The plan. Access, parking, awkward items, pets, key timings. It all goes in the job notes the crew is briefed from.
- The move. Our own trained, fully insured crew, led by James (over 15 years on the vans), carries out the plan. Sean stays reachable throughout.
- The follow-up. Anything raised after the move comes back to the same person, by name.
DBS checked, and here is the certificate
A removals crew spends the day inside your home, so you should not have to take character on trust alone. Sean holds a Basic DBS certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service, issued 8 April 2026, with the Police Records section reading exactly what you want it to read: NONE RECORDED.
The certificate number, DBS ID number, date of birth, place of birth and previous-name fields are blurred for privacy. The unredacted original is available to view in person on request.
It is the same certificate shown on his profile at Lockerfella, his locksmith business, where letting a stranger work on your front door makes the question even sharper.

The words on this site are his too
Every guide in the advice hub, every service page and every named job is written and signed off by Sean, drawn from moves the crew actually did. The rules he follows, including the correction policy and where the facts come from, are public on the editorial standards page. When a byline says "Editorially reviewed by Sean Hamilton", this page is who that is.
Just mention it when you get in touch and the discount comes straight off your written quote, on any move from a single item to a full house.
Frequently asked questions
Who answers when I call Brewood Removals?
Sean does, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is no call centre and no ticket queue: the person who picks up is the person who quotes your move, plans it and briefs the crew that turns up.
Does Sean do the moves himself?
Sean runs the business and handles every enquiry, viewing and quote personally. The moves are carried out by our own trained, fully insured crew, led by James, who has over 15 years on the vans, working from the plan and notes Sean takes from you.
What happens if something goes wrong on a move?
You talk to Sean, the same person you booked with. Damage gets flagged and photographed on the day, and the claims process on your written quote is handled directly rather than passed around. The reviews mention this pattern for a reason.
What is Lockerfella?
Sean's other business: a 24/7 locksmith service covering the same West Midlands patch as our vans. The two stay separate, but they pair naturally when you move house and want the locks changed on day one.
Is Sean DBS checked?
Yes. Sean holds a Basic DBS certificate issued in April 2026 with nothing recorded, and a redacted copy is published on this page rather than just claimed. The unredacted original can be viewed in person on request.
Who writes the advice on this site?
Sean writes and signs off every page, with the jobs and stories drawn from the crew's real work. The editorial standards page explains the whole process, including how corrections are handled.
